Rehabilitation centre hosts campaign

Jubilant Rehabilitation Centre will host a national campaign against alcohol and substance abuse from May 15 to June 15.
The campaign, which will cover 2 320 kilometres, will start from Gaborone via Gantsi to Maun.
Mr Alpha Phenyo, the founder of the organisation, said in an interview that, they would be cycling from Gaborone to Maun, adding that the campaign activities would include camping at Rasesa.
Mr Phenyo said community members would be educated about life and leadership skills, rehabilitation of alcohol and drug addicts, stress and anger management, pre-post marital counselling and advocacy for community development against gender based violence.
Mr Phenyo said during their campaign, they would visit amongst others, Thamaga, Sekele, Letlole junior secondary schools and Matsha, Gantsi and Maun senior secondary schools.
He further said they would address several kgotla meetings and schools to spread the message on issues of alcohol and substance abuse.
The platform, he added would help engage different stakeholders and enable the organisation to share its mandate with them.
Also, he applauded Botswana National Youth Council and Boswelakgosi Lodge for sponsoring the campaign and pleaded with other organisations to partake in making the campaign a success.
Mr Phenyo noted that Jubilant Rehabiliation Centre was a non-profit organisation with a mission to provide influential leadership through provision of services to people with addictive disorders.
The organisation, he said maintained an array of comprehensive and integrated services, which supported the restoration of lives and the principle of recovery. ENDS
