03 May 2017
Lobatse Town Council has retained Ms Malebogo Kruger and Mr Francis Mokwena as the town mayor and deputy mayor respectively.
The duo were unopposed and will serve for the next two and half years
Ms Kruger thanked fellow councillors in showing confidence and trust in her to continue as the mayor, and acknowledged Lobatse councillors for showing commitment in executing their duties.
Though it has not been easy, Ms Kruger said with the support and team work from councillors she had been able to achieve intended goals.
In the next two and a half years, Ms Kruger said she would work hard and push for many projects that were pending. She mentioned the leather park, MilkAfrica, the bus rank shopping complex as well as attracting investors to Lobatse.
She said it was upon the leadership of Lobatse to work hard in order to fulfill the promises they made. She further said the 38 hectare land for the leather park was ready and that the groundbreaking would be done this year to kick start the project, among other projects in the development plan.
Lobatse Town Council also elected the finance, education, health, housing, auditing and other committees for a new term in office. ENDS
