Venson Moitoi leads delegation to ACP - EU ministers meeting

Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi will lead the Botswana delegation to the 105th Session of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Council of Ministers and the 42nd Session of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers to be held from May 2-5 in Brussels, Belgium.
A press release from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation states that the two meetings will afford the ACP Council of Ministers an opportunity to exchange views on the current global political developments and their impact on the ACP Member States.
It says that the meetings will also consider, amongst others, matters pertaining to the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Climate Change; the future relations between ACP and EU countries, the future of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of countries post 2020 and the state of play of the ACP-EU regional Economic Partnership Agreements.
The statements says these issues are critical for Botswana’s engagement with the international community and remain a priority in Botswana’s national development efforts.
Dr Venson-Moitoi is expected to return to Gaborone on Saturday. ENDS
