Ghanzi show report postponed
23 Apr 2017
Ghanzi show 2016 report meeting, which was held at Ghanzi main kgotla recently was not a success as residents’ questions could not be answered after Ghanzi show executive committee treasurer failed to attend the meeting.
The aim of the meeting was to identify the success and the failures of the much anticipated annual Ghanzi show. The absence of the treasurer raised a concern as residents believed that the treasurer’s report was not as detailed as expected.
When commenting on the report, which was presented by Ghanzi Show Committee vice chairperson, Mr Thabiso Kebadile on behalf of the chairperson, Kgosi Botshelo Lekgothu of Ghanzi main kgotla said the report was incomplete.
He said what was presented was a summary of the chairperson’s report, adding that they therefore sought detailed committee secretary and treasurer’s report too. Kgosi Lekgothu therefore urged the committee secretary and treasurer to prepare a detailed report and present it after seven days.
Mr Socks Kebadile, a resident also raised a concern, stating that the report was half baked, especially on the financial part, adding that it was therefore impossible for the meeting to continue, especially that the committee was failing to answer the questions.
According to Mr Kebadile, important financial information was missing, citing gate takings as one of the missing link.
Former chairperson of the
Ghanzi Show Committee now vice chairperson, Mr Thabiso Kebadile had earlier on mentioned that the committee treasurer was absent because of emergency. Residents and show committee agreed with Kgosi Lekgothu that the meeting be postponed to April 27 when the treasurer would be available to present the report. end
