The newly appointed Matsha College school head, Mr Tshokologo Dineo says they have introduced a special day of prayer to seek God’s divine intervention in a quest to transform the school.

In an interview recently, Mr Dineo said Matsha College had been facing challenges of mischievous students, who indulged in drugs and alcohol abuse, vandalism of school properties, sexual relationships and practising of Satanism.

“All these unfortunate turn of events have contributed substantially to poor academic record; hence painted a bad picture and perception about Matsha College,” he said.

As a result, he said some parents transferred their children to other schools.

“This goes a long way to show that parents and other relevant stakeholders no longer have confidence, let alone trust on our school. Therefore, it is quite imperative for management to turn to God as the first attempt to reverse the school to its glory days,’’ he said.

 The school head said with God, nothing was impossible.

Also, he noted that they had already hit the ground running, as their reform strategies were starting to bear fruits and show signs of recovery.

“Students have now put their acts together and this is a clear indication that we are slowly but surely getting there,’’ he said.

To complement students’ efforts, he said teachers had come to the party by pulling all the stops through displaying competent teaching methods.

In addition, he highlighted that they had introduced an initiative, whereby they travel across the catchment area that feeds the school to buy in the support of the parents as a way of collectively transforming the school and taking it to greater heights academically. He also said they were driven by a theme, A Different Approach, A Different Matsha 2017 And Beyond.

He added that they have committed themselves as Matsha College management to practice what they preach adding that they would do things differently to show the people that they have changed. BOPA
