Morupisi tours the Botswana University Hospital

Permanent Secretary to the President, Mr Carter Morupisi has implored employees of the new Botswana University Hospital (BUH) to ensure that utmost attention is given to the almost complete facility in order to ensure that upon completion it provides efficient and swift service to the nation.
Speaking to the hospital’s transition team during a site visit of the state of the art facility recently, Mr Morupisi said that as pioneers of Botswana first teaching hospital, the team should be proud of having been given the immense responsibility to be its founding workers, and thus be encouraged to give it their all, for their own legacy and for that of the country.
He reiterated that the university hospital was constructed to reaffirm the government’s commitment to providing good health care to the citizenry.
He urged the team to ensure that all service to be provided at the hospital was world-class, including auxiliary services like catering and cleaning.
For his part, the hospital project coordinator, Dr Malaki Tshipiyagae highlighted that the 450-bed hospital was envisaged to be operational in December 2017.
He noted that state of the art equipment would be used at the hospital, making it more affordable for Batswana to have access to better health care locally than having to seek specialist service outside the country.
Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Ms Shenaaz El-Halabi who was also at the hospital thanked tMr Morupisi for the visit, saying that good leaders do visible felt-leadership activities to give their teams all the support they needed, particularly at the inception of such mega projects like the Botswana University Hospital.
