Students and staff of BAOBAO Private School in Gaborone took an educational tour which landed them at Tantebane Game Ranch between Tsamaya and Themashanga in the North East District.

Although they were on an educational tour, they found it fit to visit the Tsamaya kgotla to interact with the kgosi and residents of Tsamaya as a way of building a relationship between the school and the village of Tsamaya.

During their short visit at the kgotla, BAOBAO donated office and educational materials to Tsamaya to be used at the kgotla and Tsamaya Primary School reception class.

The  materials were handed over to Kgosi Zenzo Letsholathebe.

The deputy head teacher of BAOBAO, Mr Mokwadi Rahube said the donations were a way of encouraging the culture of giving, saying it was encouraging to see President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama leading by example in encouraging the spirit of giving.

Mr Rahube noted that tribal administrations were pillars of villages, hence they donated some office materials to the Tsamaya kgotla in order for them to carry out their duty and serve their clients properly.

He said as BAOBAO, they managed to achieve their goal of giving back to the community through determination and working together with some private sector players, saying by so doing they managed to buy the material worth about P25 000.     

Welcoming them in the kgotla, Kgosi Letsholathebe applauded BAOBAO for its gesture, saying it was a job well done since they showed that they had taken into consideration the call of the President.

For his part, the councillor for Tsamaya ward, Mr Isaac Pelaelo thanked the management and students of BAOBAO for visiting their village and donating  materials.

Councillor Pelaelo said their gesture was the beginning of their relationship, and urged Tsamaya Primary School management use the relationship to benchmark at BAOBAO on strategies they use in order to produce good results. ENDS
