Water supply still challenge

Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) water works superintendent for Kanye/Moshupa, Mr Michael Montsho says the corporation is challenged to meet huge water demand in Moshupa.
Mr Montsho said during a full council session recently that frequent power cuts and borehole breakdowns remain a challenge to meet demand.
He further explained that interventions by the corporation to arrest the situation also took long.
In their continued efforts to meet water demand in Moshupa, Mr Montsho told council meeting that the corporation has hired an extra water bowser to augment water supply.
During comments, nominated councillor, Ms Mavis Tshiping complained of dire water situation in Moshupa.
So bad she said was the situation that residents did not have water for the past 10 months.
Another nominated cllr, Sunah Dikgola wanted to know the reasons why water from Moshupa dam which stood at full capacity could not be purified to meet water demand in the village.
For his part, Cllr Mosekisi Rangobana of Kgosing Ward wanted to know the time when Selokolela boreholes will be repaired to arrest water situation in Kanye.
Councillor Boiki Gaofiwe of Nyorosi East also asked for water tanks to be placed at Kgwatlheng clinic to provide water to the people. ENDS
