Duplex Kids donates school shoes

29 Mar 2017

A charitable organisation called Duplex Kids has  displayed a spirit of benevolence by donating 59 pairs of school shoes to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) of Khuto Primary School in Kanye.
Speaking during a donation ceremony at the school premises on Wednesday the organisation’s chairperson Mr Eddie Mdluli said they linked-up in social media and eventually met to come up with ways of giving back to the community.
After consulting with some friends from Kanye they decided to donate shoes to Khuto Primary School, he noted.
Mr Mdluli challenged parents to be cautious with their children’s education to ensure they got the best and jealously guard against habit forming substances that can destroy youngsters’ future.
He expressed optimism that their organisation will grow in leaps and bounds that would give them a room to attract partners that would lend a helping hand.
Social welfare officer at Kanye Administrative Authority (KAA) Leronamang Garenamotse commended Duplex Kids for their gesture and appealed to parents to make sure that their children attend school accordingly and do homework.
He said education is a fundamental basic right therefore every child deserves access to basic education.
However, he advised parents to be responsible enough to see that children’s rights and needs are met and fired salvo at those who desert children.
The deputy school head of Khuto primary Ms Dimakatso Kgetseyamore applauded Duplex Kids for stepping up to the platter in response to the President’s request of helping the needy.
She further stated that they are faced with challenges like shortage of classes but remain hopeful to receive help. ENDS
