DC office donates

16 Jun 2013

Serowe district commissioner’s office on June 11 extended a helping hand to one of their colleagues by donating food hampers and a fridge.

Their colleague, Mr Simisani Boy, who worked as a grounds man was last year involved in a car accident which left him incapacitated. The donation was bought by money raised through the wellness committee. Speaking during the handing over, wellness focal person, Ms Boineelo Moshombe said wellness committee was fundamental and a must-have in the workplace.

She said as the committee, their mandate was to provide for the needy and aspire to reach the vision pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation. Ms Moshombe also noted that ever since their colleague had an accident, they had been giving him full support and promised to continue.

However, she said their assistance did not stop with Mr Boy but would extend to all who needed their assistance. She encouraged people to work together to identify those in need and to take wellness committee seriously. When receiving the gift, Mr Boy thanked his colleagues for the warm hearts they displayed towards him.

He urged them to continue with the good work adding that this had potential to help them become productive as they were working as a team with high regard for each other’s welfare. ENDS
