21 Mar 2017
Hukuntsi sub-land board deputy chairperson, Ms Lydia Mhlelu has urged Hukuntsi community to cooperate with the land board during the process of allocating plot numbers within the village.
Speaking at a consultative kgotla meeting in Hukuntsi, Ms Mhlelu said the land board would be allocating plot numbers to registered plots.
She therefore urged plot owners to allow officers access to their homesteads.
She further advised plot owners to cross check that their plot numbers were the same as he ones on the registration receipt.
The new plot numbers, she added would assist in record keeping, which might be handy to other departments such as Botswana Police Services, Independence Electoral Commission (IEC) and Hospitals in their execution of duties.
Ms Mhlelu encouraged those who did not register their plots with the land board to do so.
Mr Nelson Montsho, one of the community elders applauded Hukuntsi land board for disseminating information well on time, saying it built trust and a healthy relationship between the villagers and the land board.
Meanwhile, Kgosi Molaodi Leipego pleaded with the community to respect kgotla as the nation prides itself with its existence.
He advised that people should dress appropriately when attending kgotla meetings and minimise noise during kgotla activities. ENDS
