Masiela Trust Fund in collaboration with Macheng Mall, Sir Ketumile Foundation and Boitumelo Foundation have donated food hampers and toiletry to Lehutshelo and Lehututu junior schools orphans in Hukuntsi.

Speaking at the official handover of the food hampers on March 15, Masiela Trust Fund chairperson, Mr Abel Monnakgotla commended charity organisations that found it necessary to give to the less privileged students.

He said they worked with all stakeholders to identify the suitable beneficiaries.

He said their mission was to remember children who were less fortunate every month and help them ease the struggle they endured.

He said they worked as a team and looked for sponsors to help bring their project to life.

He highlighted that they intended to donate 7 000 pencils every year in all Kgalagadi North schools adding that Boitumelo Foundation would donate food groceries every three months to all Kgalagadi North settlements.

In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Merapelo Tshweneyagae of Hukuntsi said he was overwhelmed by the love from the charitable organisations as they chose his village among many to donate to.

He said the community was excited as he was about the donation and hoped the students would use the donations properly.

He said his community was blessed to be a part of such generosity as they thought they would never receive such because their village was small.

One of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude towards the hampers stating that it was a good gesture for the business community to give back to the less privileged.

She encouraged the beneficiaries to care and appreciate the donations, saying it was evident that the donors had the interest of the community at heart. ENDS
