Segokgo wants introspection
20 Mar 2017
South East district council chairperson, Mr Phenyo Segokgo has pleaded with fellow councillors and council staff to introspect.
At a full council meeting recently, Mr Segokgo said there was need to introspect to determine if the service they had been giving to the community was adequate.
He said it was their responsibility as councillors to make sure that the needs of the south east district residents were met.
He said they were already half way of their five year term as representatives hence the need to assess if they had delivered the promises made during election campaigns.
He also updated the council on the recent floods which caused damages affecting some households and government departments along Ngotwane River.
Mr Segokgo said the road between Taung Bridge and the railway crossing was badly damaged resulting in closure on February 21-22 due to high volumes of water from Taung River.
He further said some families in Mogobane and Otse who were affected by floods were assisted.
He said despite the floods, farmers had been able to plough their fields with satisfying yields enough to supply schools for the feeding programme.
Mr Segokgo also noted that all the necessary preparations for the upcoming Tlokweng Parliamentary seat by-elections have been made. ENDS
