As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, Smart Security Solutions company employees will embark on a 40km sponsored walk from Shorobe to Maun to raise funds towards the construction of a house to a needy person at Senonnori ward in Maun.

The director of the company, Mr Baphutholodi Kgari revealed in an interview that the assistant minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Thato Kwerepe and the three MPs and some councillors from Ngamiland district are expected to grace the occasion which would take place on April 2.

He explained that as a private company, they found it fit to respond positively to the President’s plea of housing the needy members of society. “Our project would be an answer to the President’s call to provider shelter for the needy persons”, he added.

He said it their mandate was not only to concentrate on making profits but also to plant back to the community they operated within  by improving their livelihoods and restoring dignity.

The company offers security and cleaning services.

Mr Kgari said they had identified the beneficiary who is a woman at Senonnori ward and urged all who want to pledge towards the success of the project to come on board.

He appreciated that some companies had already pledged bricks and other building materials and believed that they would indeed achieve their goal. He said their intention was to complete the project by end of May and a formal handing over would also be conducted.

Lastly, he appealed to other private companies to rally behind the President's Housing Appeal initiative. He said as companies and the public at large, they should revive the spirit of giving and continue to demonstrate love and compassion towards the less under privileged society.

He said the government alone could not afford to provide shelter to all needy people. ENDS
