Chairperson for Tuberculosis (TB) publicity committee in Kanye, Mr Moemedi Ramhikela says preparations towards World TB day commemoration slated for March 24 are ongoing.

Mr Ramhikela said in an interview this week that Kanye District Health Management Team (DHMT) would host this year’s event to be held under the theme; Unite to End TB.

As part of the build up towards the event, Kanye DHMT has had a number of activities among them panel discussions for medical and traditional doctors.

The primary objective of the discussions according to Mr Ramhikela was to discuss with participants issues of treatment, diagnosis, prevention and control.

“During the discussions, we advised traditional doctors to always refer their patients to us so that we can also attend to them,” he said.

As part of prelaunch activities, Mr Ramhikela said Kanye DHMT would form part of Molemo wa Kgang on March 15 to discuss issues of TB focusing primarily on infection control measures before winding up the activities in Moshupa, Jwaneng and Lobatse where they would be conducting a public education.
