Kago Serole, famously known as ‘Staxxx’ in the entertainment scenes, believes music has the power to heal and inspire broken souls.
The young lad who started singing aged nine has not only been touching many people’s lives with his music, but also motivated them to follow their dreams like he did.
“There is so much power in music because it has the ability to impact so many people’s lives in such an amazing way. I always get humbled when people tell me that they relate so much with my music,” he said.
He said when he started making music, he wanted to share the story of his life with others as he realised that by sharing his highs and lows he would in turn touch others who might be going through the same challenge.
He added that as a hip hop artist, he has mastered the art of attracting all ages as he writes music for the masses.
He added that he preaches prosperity, positivity and the beauty of life in his songs. “I choose to sing as I wanted to communicate with humanity through song. Everybody loves a good song and the message gets easily sent because when you lay down your feelings in a song, many can relate with it and look forward to the future,” he said.
Serole thus far has incredible three albums to his name and has performed at some of the top music festivals, these include The sky Girls BW express yourself tour, Sky fest, The major legue Lit sessions with Ambitious Entertainment from South Africa just to name a few.
He explained that the reception he has received for the albums has been phenomenal as Batswana are always looking forward to his next songs. “Batswana have been so supportive and they always give me positive response regarding my albums, they love the albums,” he said.
He further added that catering for his fans has been one of his most principal as it is through them that he is now on his way to be counted among the best.
“One of my songs called ‘Regardless’ talks about overcoming obstacles with so much positivity, this is one of the songs that has been getting a lot of airplay and many love it because it comforts a lot of broken hearts out there,” he said.
With all his hard work and determination, it was only fair that Serole get chosen to be the ambassador of an organisation called ‘Young Love’ which is a youth campaign against intergeneration sex.
“It is such a privilege to be the face of such an amazing organisation that helps the youth to focus on great things that will be good for their future as opposed to the bad that will damage their future,” he said.
Although all artists have people they aspire to be like, Serole on the other hand believes he is his own role model as everyday for him, it’s a new day to perfect yesterday’s mistakes.
He said he aspires to inspire other young people who want to make it in the music industry and be their role model as his story is from humble beginnings.
“I started from nothing to be where I am today, I hope this can inspire young ones to take their craft seriously and nurture it so that it grows to be a success story,” he said.
The former television presenter further explained that he however recognises other giants in the hip hop scenes like the likes of SCAR, Zues, AKA, Kanye West and Drake because these are artists he grew up listening to.
“I love how they always release amazing albums, their business skills are really amazing and I learn a lot from them each day I listen to their music,” he added.
The 22-year-old is destined for greatness and he says he is only starting as the future looks bright for him.
“I am glad I started perfecting and polishing my talent at a young age because this has allowed me to grow musically and offer people the best of the best, I believe people mature with age and my maturity can be seen in my music,” he said. ENDS
