Community mobilisation important
13 Jun 2013
Community mobilisation plays an important role in cluster policing as it engages all concerned parties.
Speaking at a cluster policing workshop in Mochudi on Wednesday, Mr Mothibe Linchwe said community leaders should not be left behind as they were to spearhead cluster policing to meet the interest of the whole community.
He said even though community leaders had many responsibilities of leading the community, they should get more involved as they acted as bridges for government information.
Mr Mothibe, who has been appointed president of the Customary Court of Appeal, pledged his support for dikgosi to make sure that they had all the information that they needed to understand cluster policing and perform it to their best.
“Cluster policing goes hand in hand with community participation hence community leaders should speak to the community and make sure they water them with knowledge.” Mr Mothibe said.
