Bailey Bridge to re-open Lobatse - Gaborone road network

Ministry of Transport and Communications informs the public that Bailey Bridge is being strategically constructed at Nywane River Crossing the A1 near Otse village to help with the movement of vehicles from Lobatse to Gaborone.
A news release from the ministry states that the steel structure will accommodate only light vehicles.
“An existing 1.2km bypass adjacent to the collapsed bridge is being cleared and prepared also for use by light vehicles.
No trucks, buses or any heavy vehicles will be allowed through the Bailey Bridge and bypass,” states the release.
Roads engineers are working closely with Botswana Defence Force engineers to ensure that the Bailey bridge is functioning by next Monday. ENDS
