Church donates to Satau
07 Mar 2017
The Apostolic Faith Mission Church in Botswana has donated to the needy during a youth conference held in Satau over the weekend.
The Donated items include blankets, bathing and washing soap. The donation was in line with the initiative, which was started by the President, Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama.
When handing out the presents, the church country overseer Mr Petros Ntonda noted that this was not the first time their church has given to the poor.
Also present at the conference was headman of arbitration Kgosi Phillip Matengu who commended the church for the donation and encouraged the church members to continue helping the residents of the Chobe District as a whole, highlighting that this initiative should not just end in Satau village.
Mr Ntonda said he was proud of the job done by the youth of his church by donating to those people not fortunate in the society, citing that it is the role of the church to lead when it comes to compassion.
He also encouraged the youth to grow up in church so that their lives can have direction as a church is able to mould one to become a responsible citizen.
The three-day youth conference was attended by all the nine branches of the church in Chobe District from Pandamatenga to Parakarungu. ENDS
