Advocate Kebonang donates food hampers to flood victim

Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Advocate Sadique Kebonang on March 3 donated food hampers and toiletries to families affected by cyclone Dineo.
The Member of Parliament for Lobatse also handed over groceries to other community members in the constituency.
Some wards in Lobatse experienced heavy downpours, which damaged houses and bridges.
Advocate Kebonang said it was important to reach out to those affected so as to uplift their lives and urged communities to unite and offer victims, not only in their locality, but other parts of the country, a helping hand.
He assured constituents that an alternative route would be opened for ease of movement after the Lobatse-Gaborone road was closed following the bridge collapse.
Earlier in her welcome remarks, Lobatse town mayor, Ms Malebogo Kruger lauded the minister for the noble gesture.
She said he proved to be a proactive leader, who accommodated the needs of the constituents, regardless of political affiliations.
She encouraged him to continue supporting residents as that strengthened his relationship with the constituents.
For his part, deputy town mayor, Mr Francis Mokwena lauded Lobatse District Disaster Management team and other stakeholders for their prompt response during the flooding period. ENDS
