The Kanye based Debonairs pizza has been applauded for showing a human face in the community where they do business.
Mr Kabelo Lemme said on February 27 when the restaurant lit up the faces of Burning Bush pre-school children with a donation of dough, as a way of corporate citizenship.
Mr Lemme said it is imperative for businesses to have corporate social responsibility initiatives during touch lives instead of only looking to maximise profits.
Mr Lemme also area council representative explained that the Seventh Day Adventist Church started the school project at a time when the nation was hard hit by the HIV/Aids pandemic with a view to cushion the affected children against the debilitating effects of the scourge.
He shared however that the school which was aimed at cushioning the affected children against the scourge now enrolled pupils from all backgrounds to avoid stigmatisation.
Mr Lemme said he was happy that the restaurant management responded positively when he sold them an idea to donate to the school.
He further challenged the Kanye business community and capable residents to assist the less privileged.
For his part, the restaurant manager, Mr Buti Mogapi said he hoped the relationship with the school will culminate into something big with time. He said the donation was part of the company' social responsibility. ENDS
