Mabeo attends regional meet

Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo, is in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, attending the 43rd African Regional Labour Administration Centre (ARLAC) Governing Council Meeting of Ministers.

A press release from the ministry says the High Level Symposium scheduled for March 2, 2017, accords ministers, responsible for labour issues in their respective countries, a platform to meet, discuss and share key issues concerning labour administration and labour policy development as member states of ARLAC.

Founded in 1974, ARLAC is an independent Governing Council comprising of labour ministries from its member countries and with support from the International Labour Organisation and United Nations Development Programme.

African Regional Labour Administration Centre is mandated with identifying and addressing critical issues that relate to social protection and the promotion of economic and social development in member countries through the labour administration function. Currently, its membership stands at 20 full members.

Minister Mabeo, who left on March 1, 2017 accompanied by permanent secretary in the Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Ms Pearl Ramokoka, is expected back home today. ENDS
