While many artists struggle to choose a favourite musical instrument, Bouyson Seitshiro finds absolute joy in the guitar.

Instead of giving in to hardships, he found peace and comfort in his guitar and was able to not only make memories, but made many fall in love with his magical play.

As a youth, his only wish was for his craft to reach as many of his peers as possible, for them to see that it was possible for one to leave their dream and enjoy it.

“I want to inspire others to always follow their dreams no matter what as we are all gifted one way or the other,” he said.

The young lad who goes by the stage name Teacobouy has been practicing the craft for more than six years and has no intention of stopping.

“I consider being a guitarist my fate, this is the path I was destined to take. I am at peace and at home when playing my guitar as it helps me forget all the troubles I ever endured,” he said.

The multi-talented musician who also specialises in producing fell in love with the guitar at a tender age, said learning to play the guitar was what made the sun shine for him.

“I love music and composing songs so in 2013 I started a band called Harmonic Angels which did very well, that’s where I discovered my capabilities,” he said.

The guitar is the most versatile instrument ever created with innumerable permutations from combing just seven notes so I decided to sacrifice my other talents and focus on mastering it, the best decision I ever took, he said.

Now counted among the best in the country, Seitshiro adds “I am that guitarist who is always called by poets to back them up and I have been backing many big names in the entertainment industry for many years now and they have been happy with my work.”

Seitshiro has shared the stage with renowned artistes, but said there had been challenges along the way, his biggest being lack of funding as he always had many projects up his sleeve, but too little funds to see them through.

“My passion lies in music, I desperately want to study music as I never had the opportunity to do so, this will enable me to start my own music school and share my knowledge with the young ones, but due to limited resources, my dream has been put on hold,” he said.

This year looks brighter for the young musician as he is working on the documentation for his new band, something he has been preparing for since departing from his previous band.

“This one will focus on addressing issues peculiar to the youth, as music is a powerful tool with the ability to heal and encourage,” he said.

His motivation, he said were his fans and family, saying "they have always been there for me, encouraging me to never give up and the satisfaction I get from seeing my fans happy is immeasurable."

Seitshiro draws inspiration from celebrated bands like Sereetsi and the Natives, Dux Ditshupo and his AMOK band, Kabo Leburu and Overthrust Deathmental band.

He pointed out that it was every musician’s dream to do international tours and what these bands had accomplished pushed him to want to better his craft. ENDS
