Tswapong heritage group encourages culture preservation

28 Feb 2017

Formed in 2015 with the aim of promoting culture and preserving natural resources, Tswapong Heritage Group’s wish is to see the future generations enjoying the rich culture that exists in the Tswapong region.

The group’s public relations officer, Goitsemodimo Thekiso told BOPA that the association based in Sefhare was born after the realisation that the Tswapong culture was slowly fading way and the beautiful natural resources needed preserving.

He said the association engaged in motivational talks, workshops, cultural shows and mountain climbing to teach the community about the importance of preserving culture and natural resources, something he said also helped bring them together.

Thekiso said the Tswapong region was blessed with natural resources, which if protected could improve the lives of the community.

He urged the youth to support the group and assist them in coming up with better ways of developing the region and putting it on the world map. ENDS
