Khama declares Thanksgiving Day

President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama has declared this coming Sunday a national thanksgiving day following torential rains that were experienced throughout the country.
“ In as much as these rains were an answer to our fervent prayers, it is only befitting that we should now give thanks to the Lord who makes all things possible,” President khama said yesterday when rallying the nation to prayer.
He added that he together with his Cabinet and other citizens would be taking part in a small prayer gathering at Gaborone Dam on Sunday, calling on churches and other religious and civil institutions to take cue “and give special thanks on the day.”
According to the President,there was nothing more precious to the nation than the blessing of good rains.
“In this respect, we have been truly humbled these past few weeks by the rains that have occurred throughout our country.Today almost all our dams are full, including the Gaborone Dam for the first time in 16 years.”
