LEA gives back to community

27 Feb 2017

Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) - Serowe branch has identified 12 houses for renovation as part of the organisation’s Community Social Responsibility.

LEA handed over the renovated SOS children’s village in Serowe, which is home to 93 children on February 24.

LEA branch manager, Ms Kgomotso Masunga said of the 12 houses identified, five were completed while the remaining ones were still being attended to.

“There is still need for funds to renovate more houses and we hope that with more companies and individuals coming onboard, we will be able to complete the seven remaining houses,” she said.

Ms Masunga applauded the contribution of LEA Social Club for contributing money towards buying the material.

Builders World also donated boxes of tiles, while Sjapi R Zones gave out an undisclosed amount of money raised through sponsored walk.

However, Ms Masunga decried lack of parental support, saying only women assisted at the centre.

She thud encouraged men to visit the centre and give fatherly support to the children.

Kgosi Seretse Tshukudu of Serowe said children’s upbringing was everyone’s responsibility and hence urged individuals and companies to come on board and help build a better SOS children’s community. ENDS
