NFTRC takes services to people
27 Feb 2017
National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC) assistant public relations officer, Ms Peoetsile Seitiso has encouraged Serowe residents to enroll with the organisation’s research centre for skills development.
Speaking at an outreach programme to sensitise residents about the organisation’s mandate and operations, Ms Seitiso said NFTRC had established a vocational training centre to equip entrepreneurs with food processing skills using its research and development outputs.
She said courses offered by NFTRC were delivered by qualified research professionals, and included processing of meat products, fruits and vegetables, cereal products and packaging of food grains, among others.
NFTRC public relations manager, Ms Thatayaone Kepaletswe said most of their courses lasted for five days upon which successful participants were issued with certificates of attendance.
Ms Kepaletswe also told residents that registration fees covered course material.
She emphasised the need for Batswana to focus on employment creation, economic diversification and food security. ENDS
