Game Changers aims for success

It is with great sadness that almost every year the country records not so satisfying marks from some schools in the country.
Some Batswana point fingers at one another while some find it fit to lend a helping hand because they understand that not all are capable.
Game Changers, an organisation formed by 10 individuals in pursuit of assisting youth in the country to discover their innate potential through educational mentorship, came about sometime last year as a way of promoting self-esteem.
The organisation does not only promote educational excellence, but also encourages youth to work in their strength, be it sports, music or any other aspect they feel fulfills their purpose so they can be able to attain a lot.
Logistics manager, Tshepo Nthaga said in an interview that the organisation was formed last year with 10 members from various fields such as doctors, academic intellectuals, business consultants and engineers to mentor, develop and groom youth.
She said they offer services free of charge to people who cannot afford them because they understand the pain of not having the best mentor one always wanted or none at all.
She also said a lot of youth in Botswana have great potential, but lack mentorship, which is why they decided to come together to offer services for free to assist youth in discovering their potential and acting on it.
Ms Nthaga said since the organisation’s inception last year, they have hosted one summit in Mochudi graced by various schools in Kgatleng.
Further, Ms Nthaga said they adopted a young man last year, who did not do well in his BGCSE studies and was not able to continue or pay for his studies to re-sit for the exams, but rather opted to sit for IGCSE. She said they gave him financial assistance and tutorials for his IGCSE exams until he completed his studies.
She said the organisation would host another summit Malotwana on March 18 to spread a message of self-worth, authenticity and independence of one as an individual. ENDS
