Kwerepe urges employees to work as team

20 Feb 2017

Assistant Minister of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Thato Kwerepe says it is important to interact and engage with employees who fall under his portfolio to find out challenges they faced and try to find solutions.

Addressing employees of Departments of Information and Broadcasting Services as well as Government Printing and Publishing Services recently, Mr Kwerepe said it was the employees’ duty to inform, educate and entertain Batswana.

“You have a mandate of printing, broadcasting and informing the rest of the country of what the government of the day wants to share with Batswana. Not government of tomorrow, but rather government of the day,” he said, adding that governmental programmes and other useful information needed to be shared.

He urged employees to work as a team and work for the common good of the country.

The ministry permanent secretary, Ms Kebonye Moepeng said it was important for employees to exercise Botho on their immediate supervisors.

“Not only because they are your superiors but because it makes it easier for people to do their job. You do not only have to show Botho to directors, managers and others, but your immediate supervisors as well even if they may be younger than you,” she said.

She said it was important for employees to make sure that their Performance Development Plans were up to date. BOPA
