Team building is essential

12 Jun 2013

Serowe Administrative Authority (SAA) councillors have been informed that psychotherapy and team building are essential part of life.

Ark and Mark Trust director of training and programmes coordinator, Ms Isabella Kgosiemang said leaders needed to have capacity to manage stress, have good communication skills and be able to handle the complexities of group dynamics.

Ms Kgosiemang was addressing SAA’s sub-council meeting in Serowe on June 10. Ms Kgosiemang said the trust offered a number of psychotherapeutic programmes to address psychosocial, behavioural change and economic challenges faced by the society.

Ms Kgosiemang said life challenges faced by contemporary society if left unchecked they ultimately affect jobs and families. Furthermore, she said through psychotherapy, an individual could have self discovery, team work and emotional health behavioural reform.

For their part most of the councillors concurred with Ms Kgosiemang that the therapy was vital because it gave one an opportunity to retrospect.

A specially nominated councillor of Serowe South, Mr Lesedi Phuthego said government should consider engaging the services of the organisation because there weretoo many social ills that needed to be addressed.

Others said the youth department should also engage them during boot camps because projects were failing due to lack of mental capacity and emotional intelligence. ENDS
