 Mr Boikuelo Meralo of Maun is the nineth and last winner of ‘Win a bakkie’ competition from Furnmart.
Mr Meralo was handed over the Chevrolet Utility car in Maun on Saturday.
Speaking to BOPA, Mr Meralo said he was grateful to Furnmart and to God for answering his prayers since he has been wishing to buy a car, but his budget was tight.
The 38-year-old man, who is a carpenter by profession, said it was by God’s grace that he came the winner out of 30 contestants.
In her remarks, the Furnmart Regional Manager, Ms Gao Ntshipa said the competition, which started in October 2016 and ended on January 31 this year, was open to customers who purchased goods worth P1  999 or above at any Furnmart store around the country.
She said the competition was meant to appreciate and recognise the input of their customers to the Furnmart brand.
Ms Ntshipa said each store in the North West region came out with five contestants from each of the six stores who entered into a draw, which led to five who made it to the final draw.
The region is made up of three stores in Maun, one in Gantsi, Gumare and Shakawe respectively.
Mr Meralo, she said, was announced the winner on February 8 in a draw that was aired live on RB2.
She said they hoped the vehicle would bring a difference to the winner’s life. ENDS
