Tsogwane calls for collaboration

Administrative and political leaders in Good Hope-Mabule constituency have been implored to work together to effectively and efficiently deliver services to the constituents.
Addressing local government management and staff in Good Hope Sub-district on February 10, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Slumber Tsogwane said in some instances, service delivery was delayed by unnecessary conflicts
He encouraged employees to work together to ensure coordination of programmes .
Mr Tsogwane, who is also Member of Parliament for Boteti West, said leadership existed to provide quality service as well as improve the living standards of communities through programmes in place.
He urged employees to share resources and work tirelessly to achieve the ministry’s vision .
Minister Tsogwane called for prudent use of funds as government was still short on finances noting that not all proposed projects would be carried out and prioritisation was important but advised that they be guided by the National Vision 2036 and the National Development Plan.
Council employees representative, Mr Thusego Mathibidi decried shortage of office accommodation, saying they were awaiting the extension of the rural administration centre.
He pleaded with the minister to consider a separate budget for Good Hope Sub-district which also catered for Mmathethe-Molapowabojang.
Mr Mathibidi noted that though the council serves three landboards, it only had two physical planners and that caused delays.
For her part, Good Hope Sub-district deputy tribal secretary, Ms Sedio said they had 30 employees and only 14 had accommodation adding that staff accommodation was a challenge.
She also asked for maintenance funds to be dispersed to the Sub district vote for quick and easy access.
Deputy permanent secretary, corporate Services, Mr David Phekoetsile said there would not be any new employments as most posts had been frozen since government was trying to reduce the wage bill.
He encouraged hiring of temporary employees, engaging interns and Tirelo sechaba participants. ends
