Team manager clarifies trust role

Following some allegations that there is a lot of interference by Sankoyo Tshwaragano Development Trust and the village chief in the running of the Sankoyo Bush Bucks FC, the team manager, Onalenna Ditlhakanyane has rubbished the claims.
He explained in an interview that the community trust continues to play a vital role in the sustenance of the club. He said it is not true that the trust i interfering adding that as management, they always approach them for advice and assistance.
“There is no truth in such allegations and I can confirm that the trust had never forced us to do something against our mandate nor influence our decisions”.
Ditlhakanyane said the decisions taken by the club management on the team’s affairs has nothing to do with the trust or kgosi noting that the duo were only brought in for advisory role when necessary.
He said the allegations were baseless and meant to mislead followers and also tarnish the good relationship of the trust and the club and the good name of Sankoyo village.
In addition, he noted that both the executive committee, trust had shown commitment and dedication towards the survival of the club.
He further explained that the trust has assisted the club a lot in the process of club licensing.
He said they are at an advanced stage because the trust made it possible for the club to achieve some of the set requirements.
“I am proud to announce that the club licensing process is on track as we managed to submit some of the necessary requirements in the checklist and a big thank you to the trust.
The team manager revealed that they had acquired an office space at Sankoyo trust premises adding that they are also enjoying usage of other resources at expense of the trust.
However, in an effort to hunt for technical sponsorship, the club and the trust agreed to work together but Ditlhakanyane confirmed that their partnership is producing positive results.
The two partners introduced a new business model which aims to encourage and promote sport tourism.
The partnership intended to generate funds for both the trust and the team through promotion of domestic tourism and sport tourism.
For his part, the trust chairperson, Haku Galesenngwe explained that they are aware of the allegation but suspected that their interference was when they intervened in a crisis where the players threatened to pass a motion of no confidence against their management and also boycott training. ENDS
