Black Forest registered their second loss in an encounter against Sankoyo Bush Bucks in Maun over the weekend.
Magoleng Boys, as Black Forest are affectionately known, went down 2-1 in an interesting encounter that left supporters wishing for additional time.
The visitors could not believe their loss given that they had been performing exceptionally well in their previous games.
However, their head coach, Rapelang Tsatsilebe seemed to have known Ngurungu well and thus giving it credit saying it was a senior team in the premier league with a wealth of experience.
Nevertheless, he expressed frustration in an interview that they did not start well because their plan was not to concede any goal but they were unfortunate that things turned the other way round.
“Out of 15 games, this is our second loss and all we have to do is to motivate our boys to sharpen their minds and focus on preparations for the next encounter with the giant Extension Gunners,” he said.
Tsatsilebe was notheless happy that his new players had an opportunity to play their first game. Meanwhile, the game started on high tempo as the host, Sankoyo took everybody by storm and managed to score within the first seconds immediately after the whistle to start the game.
The goal scorer, Okangetse Mojwaine was in good position when their rivals tried to make a back pass.
For a while, Ngurungu boys had been struggling to take home advantage but their encounter was a dream come true after they finally tasted victory against Black Forest.
Sankoyo should be thankful to the exploits of two new signed players, Ononofile ‘Striker’ Setsiba and Kabo ‘Fire’ Matlhare as their incredible pace created trouble for their rivals.
The Ngurungu boys enjoyed ball possession and it was in the 16th minute of the first half when Oabile aka Shumba Bathusi doubled their lead.
The goals sent the sizeable Ngurungu supporters into wild celebrations as they had been living under immense pain, as their boys seemed to be goal shy, even when they were in a position that was almost impossible to miss.
The game was marred with rough tackles from both teams which resulted in five players yellow carded. Black Forest consolation goal came through Goabaone Mogorosi’s simple pass in the 40th minute.
After recess, Magoleng started piling pressure on Sankoyo who were a bit relaxed but were unsuccessful as they failed to convert all created chances.
Meanwhile, Ngurungu assistant coach, Tiiso Gadimang said it was a must-win game for them because his boys were technically advanced.
Gadimang said the introduction of the new signings had also added value to the boys’ performance and hailed them for making supporters proud.
He said they had to change their approach hence they managed to collect three points.
Further, he said they had agreed to disregard their challenges but focus on their performance to avoid relegation. Before their win, Sankoyo was in position 14 in the log standing. ENDS
