MP for Kgalagadi North who is also Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi has urged educators to infuse a culture of service in the teaching and learning process.
He said this during his meeting with the newly appointed Matsha College school head Mr Tshokologo Dineo.
The assistant minister highlighted that education system was currently faced with various challenges and encouraged the school head and his team to collectively pull all the stops in helping Matsha retain its initial status as one the best performing senior schools in the country.
“We are awake to a litany of challenges that you are faced with in the modern teaching environment; limited resources student waywardness widening teacher –student ratio in a class, crowded accommodation and many others.
However, I have discussed these things with the relevant people and I have hope that they will address them,’’ he said.
He urged the new head to lead by example, adding that principals have to set the tone in creating a culture that compels great service. The service-oriented principal is also required to drive service excellence throughout the school and this will result in developing and maintaining exceptional relationships with everyone in the school.” ENDS
