Minister of Health and Wellness, Ms Dorcas Makgato has appreciated and acknowledged the participation of the ministry’s employees in the preparations of BOT50 independence celebrations.

Ms Makgato said, “2016 was a special year for Botswana, as we celebrated 50 years of independence and it is important to acknowledge the participation of those who took part in preparing for the celebrations.’’

She said the employees made the day a success and ensured that Botswana became a proud nation by taking part in preparing for the independence celebrations.

The minister awarded certificates of appreciation signed by President, Lt General Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama to those who took part in the preparations for the celebrations.

The permanent secretary in the ministry, Ms Shenaaz El-Halabi also appreciated the employees’ good work, adding that “we only strive for excellence in our ministry.”

She further noted that 2017 had come with a lot of challenges that needed to be attended to and she urged employees to work as a team to overcome problems. ENDS
