Mosojane plans for its P10m share

05 Feb 2017

Kgosi Sibangani Mosojane of Mosojane says his village is dreaming big in terms of carrying out developments projects.

In an interview recently, he stated that the Mosojane community came up with ideas on what they would want to do with their share of P10 million to be given to constituencies.

He further stated that they wanted Tati West’s P10m to be shared among the villages.

He also highlighted that most villages in the district were way behind with developments and therefore it was their chance to fulfill what they always dreamt of in their respective villages, looking at the value it would add to them.

When shared amongst villages, Mr Mosojane said their possible P370 000 share could positively change Mosojane since government was also facing an economic downturn and could not develop all parts of the country.

He also applauded the government’s P10m initiative, stating that Mosojane had long desired to have a community centre, adding that with it they would be able to host different activities such as concerts, church conferences, youth workshops and other activities and that the centre will be used by the Village Development Committee to raise more funds for further developments in the village.

In addition, Kgosi Mosojane further stated that they also intend to develop their playground in order to be able to host ball games and different tournaments; be it presidential games tournaments, constituency tournaments or Christmas ball games tournaments, something that can positively change the lives of youths in his village.

On other issues, Kgosi Mosojane also expressed concerns on farmers who neglect their livestock, carelessly leaving them to destroy other people’s crops.

He said some farmers are reluctant to herd their livestock, adding that they therefore as the community of Mosojane came up with a compensation plan to those whose fields get destroyed by livestock.

He said going forward if cattle destroy crops, the one whose animals caused the destruction will compensate the other with one cow.

The same strategy will apply with regard to other animals be it goats or donkeys.

He also showed concern on the poor performance results of the 2016 primary school leaving examinations, adding that they realised that parents do not work hand in hand with PTAs  and this lack of partnership leads to a drop in results. He added that he will have to intervene and take necessary measures to those parents failing their children.

Kgosi Mosojane further noted that he is also concerned with the escalating number of rape cases in his village especially during this ploughing season. He said the community has to work together to fight the crime and help apprehend the criminals. BOPA
