Botswana Savings Bank has donated chairs worth P40 000 to the Department of Civil and National Registration Broadhurst office on Friday.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the chief executive officer of Botswana Savings Bank, Mr Boikhutso Tekane said they donated the chairs because they noticed that the department had old chairs which were not in good condition. He said the chairs would be used by Batswana who come to get services from the department.

Mr Tekane highlighted that Botswana Savings Bank uses identity cards and passports for identification of their customers hence they saw it fit to donate to the department which provides Batswana with identification documents.

“Customer service is our number one priority and we should work together to improve it,” he said. He also stated that they had in the past donated houses to the community and also donated to schools through the Adopt a School initiative.

For his part, the deputy permanent secretary in the ministry of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Mr Montshiwa Montshiwa thanked Botswana Savings Bank for the donation.

The ministry is still in the procurement process to improve their services to Batswana, he said. BOPA
