Respect Ipelegeng rules official

Nxaraga residents in the Ngamiland District have been urged to take Ipelegeng programme seriously.
Addressing a kgotla meeting recently, Mr Obakeng Kheru, a social worker, explained to residents that the Ipelegeng programme was intended to uplift their livelihoods.
Mr Kheru expressed concern about some beneficiaries who did not adhere to the programme’s rules and regulations, something he said resulted in poor performance.
As such, he encouraged residents to commit to their work saying “you are lucky to have benefited from one of government’s initiatives.”
He highligted that even though the programme was not a permanent job, there was need to ensure that it produced expected results.
Thus, he urged beneficiaries to introspect and display acceptable behaviour at work and be examplery to their children.
Residents were also urged to use their wages wisely and learn to save and embark on projects that would give them dignified lives.
On other issues, Mr Kheru urged residents to build strong structures which could be sustainable during disasters.
He said the disaster management committee was financially crippled and therefore was unable to build houses for affected victims. BOPA
