Sefhare deserves clinic - Makgato
24 Jan 2017
The Minister of Health and Wellness, Ms Dorcas Makgato, has quashed rumours that she has used her ministerial powers to build two hospitals in Sefhare.
Addressing kgotla meetings in her Sefhare/Ramokgonami constituency recently, Ms Makgato said Sefhare deserved to have a clinic just like other villages.
She said Sefhare hospital served the entire constituency, therefore the village needed to have own clinic.
She further said Sefhare residents had to directly go to Sefhare hospital instead of being referred to the hospital by the clinic in their village.
Consequently, Ms Makgato said the hospital experienced congestion that could be attributed to the unavailability of a clinic in Sefhare.
She, however, said this led to frustrations of patients because they would have to wait for long hours before being attended to.
She said she found it fit to push for the refurbishment of the old Sefhare hospital which had already started to serve as a clinic so that it could serve Sefhare residents.
She said after the opening of the clinic in their village, Sefhare hospital would be able to assist patients on referral.
Ms Makgato informed the residents that there were several development projects in their constituency.
She said the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) projects, which were officially launched by President Lt Gen.Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama were doing well in Machaneng.
He said the 25 houses under ESP programme in Machaneng were completed without hiccups and are awaiting electrification.
He told the residents that Chadibe kgotla offices were also been finished and the start of the building of the agricultural service centre at Sefhare has been launched.BOPA
