While some people are making excuses for their lack of prosperity in life, some are trying by all means to thrive. One such is  41 year-old Tonota born Mr Moitsi Nkamogelang who hails from Maloso ward.

Speaking to BOPA in an interview recently, Mr Nkamogelang explained that he realised the high rate of unemployment in the country following his several attempts to land a job.

Compelled by such situation, Mr Nkamogelang did not look back but looked at available opportunities such as car washing business, which seemed to be his ultimate choice.

“I did not want to use the lack of job opportunities as a barrier to my life since I have hands and brains to utilise for the available opportunities,” he said.

He explained further that from the many ideas that overwhelmed his mind, car washing business was best to opt for and in 2009 he set it up at the Classic Shops in Tonota.

Mr Nkamogelang meanwhile noted that he operated his business without the proper resources but that did not discourage him in anyway.

The sole proprietor explained that he was pushed to strive through perseverance, sheer determination, love and passion for what he was intending to pursue.

He explained that with the proceeds he acquired from the first months, he was able to buy the necessary resources, which then boosted the business.

With the passage of time and struggling to penetrate the market, he strategically moved to operate near  Manyanda Shopping Complex still in his home village.

Mr Nkamogelang revealed the business is now settled and making satisfactory profits since it attracts more customers, whom he explained are locals and visiting individuals.

Through this business, he is able to buy school uniforms, pay school fees for his two children as well as able to put food on the table for the family.

He advised fellow Batswana to stand up on their feet and find ways of battering their livelihoods and not to depend on government to be their sole provider in everything.

Furthermore, he stressed that there are more available opportunities that need to be grabbed and utilised, adding that the sky is the limit.

He said that once one has grabbed the opportunity, all needed is to develop love, perseverance as well as living a vision to attain their endeavors.

Mr Nkamogelang maintained that it is of paramount importance as a business operator to treat the customers well at all times.

“The provision of good customer care service is one major contributing factor to the growth of a business since doing so will help attract more customers to the business, hence growth,” he noted.

He therefore explained that this can only be achieved by respecting customers as well as meeting their needs. BOPA
