Giving feedback critical-Tsogwane
15 Jan 2017
Member of Parliament for Boteti West has emphasised the need for officers conducting assessment to give feedback to those applying for government programmes.
At a kgotla meeting in Motopi recently, Mr Slumber Tsogwane said feedback should be given regardless of whether one has qualified for the programme or not.
He said it was evident from people’s complaints that lack of feedback was a concern.
Mr Tsogwane said there were people living with disability who were still dependents adding that in cases where assessed persons do not qualify, there should be other interventions to assist them.
In addition the legislator said in procurement, locals should be given priority.
He said tenders should not be given to only one company, citing that other companies should be given an opportunity to compete.
He advised residents to take advantage of programmes that would help to upgrade their lives.
Mr Tsogwane who is also the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development encouraged Motopi residents to form a trust and apply for a plot to be undertaken through tourism and irrigation farming.
He further informed the residents that for a village to have a senior secondary school, the number of students in the catchment area was considered.
The deputy Village Development Committee chairperson Ms Metha Kganetso requested for a tourism and irrigation farming plot for the village.
She also brought to the attention of the MP overstaying of public officers on the other hand saying teachers were transferred without replacement. BOPA
