Bobonong Department of Road, Transport and Safety staff has donated toiletry worth P525 to five elders of Bobonong on Friday.
Station manager of Bobonong DRTS Ms Boemo Sekgweng said her staff has formed a wellness committee which is based on general life issues.
She said at the start their wellness committee was only based on health issues but later they decided to include other programmes like financial education.
Ms Sekgweng said helping the less privileged people also became one of programmes which they are assisting the less privileged individuals with the help they might need.
She said they previously bought school uniforms to the needy students in some Bobonong primary schools through this programme.
“This year we decided to buy toiletry worth P105 to each of the five elders,” she said.
Ms Sekgweng said their objective was to put a smile on elders whom we know because the pension they receive is not enough for them to buy everything they need.
She urged elders to receive their presents with both hands and promised them that next time they will do better.
Ms Sekgweng said her staff is made up of people who do believe in one of the 10 commandments which says “love your neighbour as you love yourself”.
She said it is important to live happily with neighbours.ENDS
