Gaotlhobogwe brings joy to children

Monotony for children residing around the Marapalalo ward in Kanye is now a thing of the past as they have a place where to while time, thanks to Ms Diketso Gaotlhobogwe's ingenuity to establish a children's centre.
She was funded by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development through Youth Development Fund to the tune of P100 000 to kick-start a games room business that goes by the name Ramms Kiddies Centre in Kanye late last year.
Ms Gaotlhobogwe told BOPA in an interview that she is grateful for the ministry for turning her dream into reality, noting such would help curb unemployment in the country.
She said with the money that she was given she bought a toy crane machine, happy car and jungle gym, things that children love the most, adding that some of the money she used to pay fixed assets and for the general running of the business.
Ms Gaotlhobogwe developed passion for a games room at a tender age propelled by her love for children, hence she established the business.
The business caters children ranging from two to 12 years. She said parents normally leave their children at her games room for P10 per hour.
She said she also had a package of P200 per month, which includes homework assistance for the children, among others.
Assisting a child with their homework relieves parents of the stress of having to endure tough questions after a long and hectic day at work, she said.
She said children sometimes need time away from home and the games room keeps them busy, hence removing them from causes that may be detrimental for their lives.
She decries the fact that some parents still do not believe in letting children play, thinking that leisure steals their study time.
Ms Gaotlhobogwe advertises her business through word of mouth, social media and distributing flyers to individuals. ENDS
