Maitengwe applauds ESP for job creation

Maitengwe residents have commended government for the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) which they say has brought employment in the area.

In a kgotla meeting addressed by their MP, Mr Edwin Batshu  in Maitengwe on Tuesday (December 20) , Village Development Committee (VDC) chairperson Mr Nkobi Masole said the ongoing ESP projects for the construction of 20 teachers quarters and school kitchen had employed 46 people.

They were also awaiting commencement of two staff houses at the clinic, which the contractor had said was going to employ 16 people.

This, he said was a welcome development since it had added positively to the economy of their village while at the same time had uplifted the lifestyle of some households whose members have been employed.  

Mr Batshu said government was going to strive to improve conditions of service for dikgosi noting that so far 32 customary courts were under construction with one of them being in their constituency at Matobo. ENDS
