Kasane Red Cross in collaboration with a Kasane resident, Mr Molefe Kenosi donated food and toys to the less fortunate in Kgaphamadi Ward.
Mr Kenosi donated food hampers worth P2 500, which were to go to the six beneficiaries who were identified by Red Cross.
The good Samaritan, who is an air traffic control officer at Kasane airport, said he saw it fit to help other people enjoy Christmas.
“I am a Christian man who wants to show love to other people through helping them and I want to make an impact and touch lives,” said Mr Kenosi.
His daughter, Carol, who he has also groomed to give, donated toys to children as Christmas gifts and gave dolls and racing cars to the young ones.
A field officer with Red Cross, Mr Karabo Leselwa stated that they met Mr Kenosi some months back when he came to their office and expressed the interest to help towards donations made by Red Cross. He said that Mr Kenosi first came to donate clothes, which were then donated to the Children’s Ark in Kazungula.
“After this, he further showed that he wants to work with us by donating food and requested us to look for people who were in need of help,” said Mr Leselwa.
A Red Cross member Mr Leatile Gareitse, a member of the Red Cross also thanked Mr Kenosi for making the donation a success and for the help he always offered Red Cross.
“Sometimes it is so hard to help as we would not have things to offer people, but with Mr Kenosi’s help, we managed to offer people some food to eat too during Christmas,” said the happy Mr Gareitse.
He said it is because of God that they have people like Mr Kenosi who are willing to make a change.
A beneficiary of the food hampers, Ms Anna Kgalemang praised Mr Kenosi for all the help he has provided and further stated that she will be forever thankful for all that Red Cross is doing to make a change in society. ENDS
