OLDM donates to Motlaagana

Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa mines (OLDM) have donated P166 000 to Serowe based Motlaagana wa Banana society for bakery project .
Speaking during the handing over ceremony on Monday (December 19), Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse, who was also announced as incoming patron of Motlaagana wa Banana society, hailed OLDM for extending their helping hand.
Mr Autlwetse stated that through the gesture, they were nurturing the Vision 2036 pillar of human and social development that showed an inclusive society that provided opportunities for all.
In the same vein, he said they were nurturing vocational education, Motlaagana wa Banana Society was equipping out of school youth with lifelong skills to curb unemployment.
He explained that vocational training was the future of employment creation in the country.
He said like any other trade, vocational education was not immune to challenges, but said through perseverance, nothing would be impossible.
Mr Autlwetse, who is also Member of Parliament for Serowe North constituency described Motlaagana wa Banana society as an invaluable institute that could stimulate the opening of industries and creation of employment opportunities.
Coordinator for Motlaagana wa Banana society, Ms Rebecca Motswetla who was hopeful that the donation would benefit about 100 youth, stated that there were no funds to pay people who were running day today activities of the society.
Ms Motswetla said some of the people have started withdrawing their voluntary services, even board members. ENDS
