Masisi promises to address Bazezuru problems
19 Dec 2016
The Vice President Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi has promised to address all the issues brought to him by the Bazezuru community so that they and other people of various descend may enjoy all privileges that Batswana enjoyed.
Mr Masisi stated this during a visit to the Gospel of God Church in Gaborone on Saturday (December 17), where he addressed issues of citizenship and land allocation that Bazezuru reported as an eye sore among their community.
The Bazezuru complained that the home affairs department officials gave them a tough time when seeking to obtain omang or passports for their children.
They said they were told to denounce their citizenship several times, yet they were born in Botswana and had no other country to call home.
They complained that the same problem denied them land allocation, as they did not have identity cards, which were a pre-requisite to land allocation. ENDS
