Mascom CEO hosts Christmas party for trust

- As part of Mascom’s corporate social responsibility initiative, the company's chief executive officer (CEO), Mr Jose Couceiro, hosted a Christmas party for vulnerable children and orphans at the Gamodubu Childcare Trust.
The CEO together with Mascom senior managers ensured that the party left lasting impressions on over 235 children from the centre.
The day was fun filled and gave kids an opportunity to play games and receive gifts in the form of Christmas clothes, toys, stationary and toiletry.
Mascom communications and public relations manager Ms Barbara Gotlop commended the centre management for their efforts especially their daily contributions in taking care if the kids.
“I am told 60 of these children are staying here and this is a commendable effort to the caring volunteers who have dedicated their time to taking care of others and making sure there is food , clothes and other provisions for these children,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of giving another person hope for tomorrow adding that the present should not define what tomorrow should be like.
“Indeed the youth of Gamodubu and surrounding areas will be a better people tomorrow because of the commitment and sacrifices you make every day,” said Ms Gotlop.
She also commended the centre management for having produced many talented and hardworking young people who are doing well in the society.
For her part, the centre coordinator, Ms Shirely Madikwe appreciated efforts of companies such as Mascom who played part in supporting their mandate.
She said the centre targeted orphans, vulnerable children and the youth who came from villages of Mmanoko, MmaKanke, Magwane and Mmamhiko.
Ms Madikwe said some children stayed at the centre during week days to relief them of the 12 kilometre distance they travel to school every day. ENDS
