Ministers houses accommodate judges
15 Dec 2016
The Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Eric Molale, says government’s decision to allow some ministers to vacate their institutional houses was prompted by the demand to address judge’s accommodation needs.
Mr Molale informed Parliament that not all ministerial houses were surrendred since some houses were still occupied by ministers.
He also said seven vacated houses had been allocated to some of the judges.
With regards to judges housing allowance, Mr Molale said government paid P13 500 to those who were not and could not be accommodated in institutional housing.
Mr Molale was responding to a question asked by Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi who wanted the minister to state what motivated the decision to allow ministers to vacate their institutional houses and whether is it true that ministerial houses have been allocated to Judges.
Mr Mmolotsi also asked the minister to state whether housing allowance of P13 500 can be extended to Judges as well. ENDS
